Boogie is Approaching
Hello Tampa Bay Beach Boppers,
We had an awesome turn out for our 35th anniversary. It was so wonderful to see everyone, especially those who haven’t been out for a while.
I can’t believe we’re more than half way through the year. Time is going fast. Speaking of, time will be running out soon for the cut-off date to purchase your Boogie event ticket. The deadline for the price break is July 22, 2024. After that date, the price will go up to $110 for event ticket, $120 for event ticket and reserved seat. The room reservations are filling up too. The Boogie flyer is included in this newsletter, it’s on our website, and it’s on our Facebook page. Don’t delay!
We’re looking for volunteers to help at the registration desk for Boogie. We will be sending an email with the schedule, and instructions should you wish to participate. Below is a letter from our Chairperson of Ways & Means. Please pay special attention to those important details for special activities during our Boogie 2024.
Remember we have SOS cards if you haven’t purchased and will be attending in September for the Fall Migration 2024. If you’re interested in purchasing, please send an email to tbbbboard@aol.com.
Our dance dates in July are the 12th and the 26th at the American Legion, post 111 in Tampa. Please come on out and show your support. We’d love to see all your smiling faces, while enjoying great music and dancing. Help pass the word.
Thank you all for your continued support. I can’t stress how important you all are to help keep this club thriving.
Happy July 4th to you all. Have fun, but please be safe. Keep dancing and take care. I hope to see you at our next dance.
Dave
From the Chair of the Ways and Means Committee:
Beach Boggie is less than two months away. We will be doing some new things to attempt to raise funds for the club and to make the convention fun for all.
One of the new things will be to raffle off some baskets. I am asking for donations of either a basket for the raffle or even some items to create a basket. Others items may be donated to be raffled off, such as, a small quilt, a woodworking project, or some other new item that you made or purchased. You may donate money as well, so that we could purchase a basket.
We will be having the duck race on Saturday only. We do plan on building up to this event throughout the weekend. We will be selling the ducks and promoting the event with some surprises that we hope everyone enjoys and participates in.
We will be having the 50/50 drawing nightly throughout the convention. We have some ideas to make this enjoyable for the people selling the tickets, for those purchasing the tickets, as well as for the winner. This can be an important way to support the club.
We are asking for volunteers for all the events. This would include help with selling raffle tickets, helping with the duck race and selling the 50/50 tickets. Doing our share as a club member will minimize the time that any of us spend away from dancing. Please contact Alvin Hysler at anh13@msn.com or 217-414-0319 or BJ Miller at bjmiller1947@gmail.com or 813-240-4025.
Thank you for your help and keep on dancing.
